In Ayúdame3D we say goodbye to the year very happy to see how we have grown and how we have helped hundreds of people with social technology.
The end of the year is just around the corner and from Ayúdame3D we wanted to take a look back to remember everything we have done during the last 12 months. The Ayúdame3D team has grown in number and we continue working very happy to have reached people in more than 60 countries.
This year our Design and Development department has not stopped working and innovating, creating unique adaptations of our trésdesis to grip the harness of a guide dog, to ride a bike or to do weights at the gym. In addition, we have also developed other designs to help such as a port-a-cath and pacemaker protector or TPU foot designs, in collaboration with orthopedists from the Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2023 the team has started working on the Robovicky project to put electronic motors on our Vicky trésdesis so that people with complete amputation of the arm can use it as well.
Our chemobox have also continued to reach children who are receiving their treatment in hospitals in different parts of the world, such as the Coromoto Hospital in Maracaibo (Venezuela) or the General Hospital in Torreon (Mexico). We would like to give special thanks to our helper3D Héctor Sanabria, who spent a month with us in the office designing and manufacturing several of these chemobox for children in a hospital in Madrid.
Internationally, the last few months have also seen significant growth. Thanks to our social alliances we have been able to reach more people who did not know they could be helped.
But foundations and NGOs are not the only ones that have been encouraged to help with social technology, but companies have wanted to create direct impact from their headquarters. Important national and international entities such as Amazon, La Caixa or Brooklyn Fitboxing have made their solidarity trophies with us. Our product team has created unique and personalized designs for each occasion. In addition, we have also organized numerous corporate volunteering days and solidarity initiatives with teams from Banco Santander, Grupo Antolin, Plastics Europe, LinkedIn or Telefonica.
The youngest students have also demonstrated that with commitment, effort, initiative and enthusiasm, the world can be changed from the classroom. Thanks to committed schools that have held charity markets and participated in our educational program Helping, we have been able to deliver trésdesis to people all over the world. Showing and raising awareness about how easy it is to help with social technology.
This year has left us with a lot of unforgettable events such as the 3D Printer Party 2023, held in March, in which, thanks to the solidarity of the maker community, we raised more than 5,000 helpis that have helped the development and creation of aids.
The month of June brought with it an important change, part of the team moved to a new office in the center of Madrid. This space has allowed the team to continue growing in a coordinated manner, from there we continue to work to make our work known and deliver more and more aid.
In July Eva, a university student from Galicia, was traveling to Cape Verde to volunteer and contacted us to be part of this adventure. From Ayúdame3D we did everything possible to send her a 3D printer with which they can design and develop aids for people with disabilities in the place, improving their independence and quality of life. In this way we established our third 3DLab in Cape Verde, to continue creating independent support networks.in Cape Verde, to continue creating independent aid networks to speed up the delivery of aids to people all over the world.
In August, together with our partner Achi Kushnir, we traveled for 10 days to the area of Arusha (Tanzania) to deliver 11 trésdesis to 10 people. There we got to know their story and were able to offer them support in the days following the delivery so that they would know how to use their new prostheses in their daily lives.
A month later, in September, we were able to deliver the first trésdesis to two people affected by the conflict in Ukraine. Our collaborator Jorge Aranda, president of the Hands with Heart organization, delivered them in person and worked with Viktor and Ceprin to help them learn how to use them.
In October, La Nave de Madrid hosted the European Citizen 2023 Award ceremony organized by the European Parliament Office in Spain, an award that we shared with the Changing Minds project. It was an honor for the whole team to receive this recognition in an exciting event in which we were accompanied by family, friends and colleagues from the ecosystem of La Nave. Also in this month we received the visit of Nelson, the manager of our 3DLab in Kenya, who after finishing his studies did his internship with us. The whole team was very happy to meet him and work with him.
In November our team traveled to Brussels to collect the European Citizen Award in the hemicycle of the European Parliament with the rest of the award-winning projects at European level. Our director, Guillermo, flew to New York to do a teambuilding with the LinkedIn team from the Empire State Building. There, the participants set up trésdesis that were conditioned and delivered to people with disabilities from all over the world. A few days later, he visited Mexico to give a presentation to thousands of young people through Lo Que De Verdad Importa.
This last month of the year has been full of solidarity from companies and individuals. We collaborated with the comedian David Cepo, making his solidarity keychain, Pantomima Full donated us the proceeds of their video 'Charity Ad' and we were finalists of the Riot Games Social Impact Fund 2023. Thanks to all this support we have delivered many, many grants.
The whole team of Ayúdame3D is very happy to see all the lives that we have changed together in this 2023. And we want to end the year in the best way, thanking enormously to our helpers3D, to all the people, entities, companies, foundations and educational centers that have made possible that this year has been full of solidarity and help.
